You are here: Home / About / “Profiles In Persisterhood”

International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD), March 8th, celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women globally. The Nuclear Power Institute observed International Women’s Day in 2022. There was an IWD Image Contest, Powerful Women Recognition (PWR) Nominations, and the viewing of our Profiles in Persisterhood.

Profiles in Persisterhood:

We were honored to debut our “Profiles in Persisterhood” Project and to share these powerful women’s stories. These amazing women are persistence personified!

Ashley Thompson

Ashley Thompson
Contest Winner

Ashley Thompson began this design by thinking about what being a woman meant to her. All the attributes it takes to be a woman, not just a powerful woman, in the world today are incorporated in her design. Those words are what she thinks about when she thinks of her heroes, her mother and grandmothers, her friends, and all the influencers in her life. She has watched all the women in her life live through all different stories but every one of them has these attributes in some way, shape, or form. The women she looks up to were the inspiration for her design and she hopes that, in some way, the women who see this design know that they too, are all those things.
