Panther Pipeline Project
Building on over 10 years of research experience in space radiation research PVAMU through funding from NASA, DOE and NNSA has established resources that enhance our research and education capability.
The curriculum is designed to prepare students to enter directly into a wide variety of careers in nuclear engineering and radiation science fields or to continue advanced professional study at the graduate level. The technical elective course will provide the knowledge and skills to the students that would be a valuable asset to any career choice.
The Panther Pipeline Project (PPP) provides opportunities to the PVAMU students through scholarships, undergraduate and graduate student research appointments and summer internships. PPP also provides financial assistance to qualified students to attend national conferences. These opportunities are provided to support the PPP primary objective of recruiting and retaining exceptional students in nuclear engineering education and research.

The objective of the nuclear engineering Panther Pipeline Project (PPP) is to introduce students to the fundamentals of nuclear engineering and radiation science. It is designed to provide the students with a scope of the field and career opportunities in it. The program will offer courses, seminars and field trips that give students a flavor of nuclear sciences and its related fields.
The Panther Pipeline Program strives to offer educational and research opportunities in some of the issues at the forefront of nuclear science and technology. This includes nuclear engineering, medical physics, space, nuclear materials, advanced energy systems and environmental fields.
In addition to the more traditional engineering disciplines (Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical and Mechanical), the field of nuclear engineering has been added to our university educational programs. The nuclear engineering option is an interdisciplinary, multi-college effort to provide our students an opportunity to pursue careers in nuclear science and engineering. The nuclear engineering option has been added to an ABET accredited, nationally recognized HBCU, to provide opportunity to the “pioneering” individuals of our institution.
