On Monday, November 5 East Bernard High School held their 1st annual WIT Induction ceremony.
The East Bernard High School Workforce Industry Training (WIT) organization was established in partnership with Texas A&M University’s Texas Engineering Experiment Station and the Nuclear Power Institute.
WIT is for both female and male high school students who have an interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) related careers, two-year technical degrees, and/or certificates. By participating in WIT, students gain exposure to career opportunities and the confidence to consider further technical education. The guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Valerie Segovia, the Outreach and Development Director of the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) at Texas A&M University.
