Public School Outreach
Going “beyond” to inspire and impact is a major focus of NPI. To tackle the challenge, NPI establishes contacts with schools and communities via STEM and science classes in all K-12 levels, after-school programs, science clubs, scout events, etc. to promote the opportunities in nuclear technology that include:
- Medical Sciences
- Forensics and Crime Investigation
- Archaeology and Paleontology
- Education and Research
Additional opportunities–such as teacher, counselor, and administrator in-service workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and presentations–strengthen interest in STEM and provide lasting relationships with public schools and communities.
NPI engages in various high school collegiate events such as career days and college nights, meeting with students, parents, school counselors, and teachers. This interaction encourages students to pursue available opportunities in STEM higher education. NPI also participates in “preview days” at partner universities and colleges, where prospective students and families explore a day in the life of a college student.
