The Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) and the Rio Grande Valley Science Association (RGVSA) would like to invite you to participate in Science on Saturday (SOS) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 5, 2022, at the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen.
SOS is intended to excite, encourage, and demystify students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). SOS is designed to spotlight students, educators, and higher education and industry partners’ knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm for STEM. Coming together in this celebratory event, SOS activities ignite and empower interest in discovery, experiments, hands-on activities, and demonstrations in a variety of STEM topics. The program will be led by RGVSA members and because this event will be held on the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen campus, facility tours and presentations by faculty will also be part of this very special event.
The NPI is a unique statewide partnership led by the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and has been creating, organizing, and funding SOS events for over a decade. “We are thrilled to finally be able to bring this outstanding event to the RGV and partnering with the following organizations to make this experience the most impactful: Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen, RGVSA, Spark!, and TSTC.”, Dr. Valerie G. Segovia, NPI Associate Director.
Science on Saturday is free to attend and open to the public.
This is a come-and-go event where students, parents, educators,
and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
