April 8, 2022

On March 5, 2022, NPI supported the first Rio Grande Valley Science on Saturday (SOS) event, hosted by the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen. This event had 1,106 students, 110 educators, and 2,674 adults and volunteers attend. It was filled with hands-on science and engineering activities, presentations, and entertainment .  Thank you, Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School, Spark!, the Rio Grande Valley Science Association, the Texas State Technical College, and Commissioner Alvarez for supporting this event and helping make it such a success.

We loved watching the students become immersed in all the science and engineering projects and presentations to create a network of engagement to help enhance STEM awareness. Our goal is to develop “the necessary workforce” in Texas, and we believe that our SOS events do just that.
