The NPI model for stakeholder involvement demonstrates best practices for the global nuclear energy industry and the benefits that can come through partnerships between governments, industry, educational organizations, civic and elected officials, and the public. Moreover, involving stakeholders in nuclear activities is crucial to obtaining support from decision makers and buy-in from local communities.
NPI offers opportunities for international groups to participate in programs that send stakeholders, including national and local government and elected officials and other decision makers, abroad to meet with peers in other countries and give testimony to the role that nuclear power has played in their communities. Stakeholders are also able to report from the perspective of elected officials on the programs and experiences that have had a significant impact on their communities, the public, and on public acceptance of nuclear energy in Texas.
We also welcome stakeholders from newcomer countries to come and meet with community leaders, educators, and others currently involved in NPI programs in Texas in order to see first-hand how these partnerships can work.
