On Saturday, October 23rd, NPI held its first Science on Saturday (SOS) of the academic year at Wharton County Junior College. There were science experiments, hands-on activities and demonstrations, raffles, goodie bags, and lots of STEM! Hosted by Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) – Bay City, NPI partnered with WCJC, Spark! PK-12 Engineering Education, the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC), Texas State Technical College (TSTC), and Palacios Independent School District. Complete with over 25 interactive science booths and science demonstration competition, this event was a huge success!

We loved getting to watch students come from all over Texas to get involved with science and engineering projects, subsequently creating a network of engagement to help enhance STEM awareness. Our goal is to develop “the necessary workforce” in Texas and we believe that our SOS events do just that.

See our upcoming Science on Saturday events:

– SOS at Stephenville High School – 01/15/22

– SOS at Troy High School – 02/19/22

– SOS at Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen – 03/05/22

– SOS at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) in Rosenberg – TBD
